Meet some of our team...

 

Owen Mackay - Director

Building composite boats since 1983, Owen is a specialist in composite boatbuilding and moulding techniques, particularly the close mould infusion process that is used for making foils. Owen sailed the traditional 'P' class in his youth and has been involved with the sea ever since. He was with the NZ Olympic team in 1984 as a boat builder and has managed several NZ surfboat teams competing internationally. He knows "the requirements" of high performance.

John Clinton - Director

John oversees the general running of the company. His background started out as a sail designer, then Sail Program manager for a number of Americas Cup campaigns, also setting up his own North Sails One Design. John also coached the NZL 470 sailors for the 1996 & 2000 Olympics, a highlight was working with Simon Cooke & Pete Nicholas to win the 2002 470 World Championship. John designed the new FX women's Olympic rig and worked with Brian Bennett to develop the VX One rig. He is on the Executive for both the 49er and 29er classes.

Dave McDiarmid - Director

David runs the assembly and fit-out team. He has developed many of the custom details and systems that you will see on the 470 and Bieker Moth. He has a very successful background in skiff sailing, winning the 2017 18ft Skiff World Championship and the much coveted JJ Giltinan trophy in 2018 & 2019.

David also campaigned a 49er and can be found sailing an 18ft skiff most weekends on Auckland's harbour or out fishing somewhere in the Hauraki Gulf. Dave is also a keen foiling Kite Surfer.

Jenny Egnot - Logistics and Spare Parts Sales

Jenny is our logistics and spare parts person. She co-ordinates shipping and documentation for boats sent overseas and will contact you to organise the safe and timely delivery of your product.

Jenny sailed 470 at a top international level from 1985 through to the 2000 Olympics. During this time she was regularly in the top 10 at major regattas and has a wealth of knowledge about Olympic class sailing and campaigning. Jenny continues to sail representing NZL at various women's keelboat regattas.

Jo Aleh - Sales

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jo is our representative at any of the major international regattas. She's there to answer all your questions and make sure you're covered to perform your best. Jo is a two-time 470 Olympic medalist, having won gold at London 2012 and silver at Rio 2016 alongside teammate Polly Powrie. She has also taken out World Championship titles in the 470 and 420 and was ranked number 1 in the women's Laser Radial (2008).
