MacKay Boats have a long and successful reputation for building world-class high performance dinghies. During the 60s,70s and 80s we built the Flying Dutchman class and our boats were used by New Zealand crews at the Olympics from 1964 through to 1992.

In the 90s we began building 470s and 49ers. Our boats have won the 470 World Championships 11 times and the 49er World Championship 5 times and in Olympic competition Mackay boats have won 15 medals. Read more...

In the 470 mens Nathan Wilmot and Malcom Page (AUS) won gold while Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield (GBR) took silver and Nicolas Charbonnier and Olivier Bausset (FRA) finished with bronze. All sailed Mackay boats.


In the womens 470 racing Elise Rechichi and Tessa Parkinson (AUS) took gold and Fernanda Oliveira and Isabel Swan (BRA) finished with bronze.


The 49er class saw Jonas Warrer and Martin Ibsen (DEN) take the gold medal.


38 out of 48 470s in the games were MacKay Boats including ten out of ten in the mens final and 8 out of ten in the womens final. 50% of the 49er fleet also sailed MacKay Boats.
